Failed third round
Originally, I wanted to write a blog post to record the entire interview process, but then I thought it wasn't necessary, so I'll just briefly talk about it in today's weekly report.
In the previous weekly report, I mentioned that I participated in the final interview on Tuesday afternoon after passing the second round on Monday. Since I had never participated in a third round interview before, I asked the HR responsible for recruitment in advance about the content of the third round. I learned that the questions asked in the third round were similar to the second round, mainly about self-introduction and questions about off-campus and on-campus practical experiences.
The interview started at around 3:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Maybe because I wasn't well-prepared, I was very nervous when introducing myself and my speech was not fluent. After introducing my on-campus and off-campus practical experiences, I waited for the interviewer to ask questions. When she asked if there were any areas for improvement in my department's work during my internship at the company and if I could make relevant suggestions, I was a bit confused and took a few seconds to recall my one-month internship. The only thing I could think of was that the department was understaffed and overwhelmed with work, and my suggestion was to hire more people, improve management awareness, and time management. However, the interviewer was not satisfied with this answer and guided me to answer in the direction of employee training. She then asked me what professional knowledge and skills human resource management personnel need, and I didn't answer that well either. Finally, she asked me which module of the six major modules of human resource management I would start with if I joined the company. After asking these questions, the interview ended, lasting about 15 minutes. Seeing such a short time, I already anticipated the result.
On the morning of September 20th, I received a text message notification that I did not pass the third round interview. I felt a little disappointed at the moment I saw the message, but it was also expected, so I didn't feel too lost. I can only say that I will continue to work hard, be more confident, and better opportunities will come.
Infuse first experience
I first learned about Infuse in relation to Alist. In my understanding, Infuse is like a player and also a series management tool that automatically downloads original data and can create a personal video resource library. It supports all Apple products, and I only have iOS and iPadOS devices, so I can have a good experience.
The latest version of Infuse officially supports adding Alibaba Cloud Drive. Previously, it needed to be mounted through Alist as an intermediary, but now it is more convenient. However, this feature requires purchasing a Pro membership. My choice is to purchase it through the Turkish region, which is equivalent to 27 yuan/year, the price of two cups of milk tea. Turkish region gift cards can be purchased on idle fish.
Since I am a beta user of Alibaba Cloud Drive, I don't have to worry too much about storage space, and I have the habit of deleting after watching. But if you want to watch higher quality videos, you need to subscribe. I am still hesitant because Infuse supports original viewing experience and Dolby Vision, which provides better visual and auditory effects. It also supports downloading original data, which is one of the attractions for me to create a personal video library.
The advantages of Infuse compared to Alibaba Cloud Drive have been mentioned above, but there are also some shortcomings. For example, the video playback speed and metadata download speed are slightly slow, but I can accept it, so I don't really mind.
In addition, I have to say that Apple's software ecosystem is really well done.
Changes to the website
The changes are not significant, just some modifications.
I added a page introducing CloudCone and will update the discount information of CloudCone irregularly. Its affiliate rebate can reach 30%, which is enough for me to renew my VPS for 4 years.
In addition, I did not delete the seal image in the upper right corner, but used it as an entrance to random articles. Clicking on it will take you to any article, inspired by the blog of Jiaoyan Douchi.
I am doing subtraction while also doing some optional additions. I still maintain a simple and plain style, avoiding fancy and cluttered designs. I hope to form my own style that can be recognized at a glance.
Interesting things and objects
- Emoji Kitchen: Google's emoji combination function, originally only used on Gboard, is now added to the search engine. Just search for "emoji kitchen" to use it. It is not simply 1+1=2, but accurately speaking, it generates new emoji images through "chemical reactions" of emojis. I also found several similar websites (Emoji Kitchen Browser, Emoji Kitchen), which are quite interesting.
- Li Tiaotiao Custom Rules: I have been using Li Tiaotiao for over a year. At first, I didn't find this custom rules repository and only used the software's default settings. The implemented functions include skipping splash ads, automatically clicking on original images in WeChat, skipping NetEase Cloud Music/TikTok update pop-ups, and most of the ads mixed in the information flow can be automatically skipped after adding custom rules. Although Li Tiaotiao is no longer updated, the original software can still be used, and there are alternative choices, such as Kaitiao (skip splash) and gkd.
- Eight Key Points of Paper Writing: Recently, I have been busy with my graduation thesis. It took a lot of time just to choose a topic. Why don't Chinese universities have courses on paper writing? I saw this simple tutorial online and remembered these key points. Broad issue, Conventional wisdom, Research gap, Contribution, Story, Concepts, Hypotheses, Audience.
- Self-Management System Practice: I often hear about someone's knowledge management system, but rarely see anyone sharing their self-management system. As mentioned in the article, goal management, time management, energy management, knowledge management, and wealth management are all part of self-management, and knowledge management is one of them. I also study management, human resource management, but managing oneself and managing others are very different. Managing others involves many aspects and contact with many people, while managing oneself is more like a self-game. First, do a good job of self-management, and then gradually extend it to a larger scope.
- China News Weekly: Is it reasonable to decouple the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6? I think it is reasonable. Some people have spent four years and still couldn't get a score of 425 in the Band 4 exam. Perhaps they don't have the ability to learn English, no matter how hard they try. But they can still get high scores in other subjects. If this leads to not being able to obtain a graduation certificate and degree certificate, it would be too unfair. In addition, translation tools are very advanced now, and people without English proficiency can easily read English content with the help of translation tools. Don't link the College English Test with the degree certificate, but it cannot be ignored. Companies still attach great importance to the scores of the College English Test when recruiting. I consider myself lucky to have passed the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6 in one go.
- Watched "Train to Busan": After watching the first part and recalling the second part, I can't help but curse: What did they make in the second part? It truly is a classic zombie movie. Although it is about zombies, it reflects real life everywhere. In the face of disaster, human nature is like a person stripped naked, completely exposed.
- Watched "Caught in Time": The previous movie directed by Wang Baoqiang, "Buddies in India," was a bad film and won the Golden Broom Award. Five years later, "Caught in Time" can refresh people's impression of Wang Baoqiang. After watching too many comedy movies he acted in, his image of being sleazy, funny, and ridiculous is deeply rooted in people's hearts. Now he suddenly becomes a middle-aged martial arts man, which is quite a contrast. I think it's pretty good and worth watching. It can be seen as a true portrayal of himself. The child from the mountains walks out of the mountains through martial arts, and he also walked out of Hebei through martial arts.
- On September 21st, I received a peripheral gift from Zuo Wan, a mug with the Zuo Wan logo. It looks very nice, has weight and texture, and the packaging box is also very exquisite.
- On September 21st, I saw the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday notice posted on the school's official website. The two days of the holiday happened to have no classes. So, counting, there are 11 days of vacation. It seems to be the first time I have had an 11-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and I also realized that it may be the last long holiday.
These are the things and objects of this week. I hope to review my week in a relaxed and calm manner, and I hope that friends who subscribe to my blog can calmly read my sharing and continue to love their lives. Life is not just about nonsense.
